You might say Stephanie Carpenter has a passion for printing — letterpress printing, to be exact.
The assistant director of the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum directs tours, prints letterpress posters and helps preserve and catalog the wood type and wood block collections.
“I feel that a job where you are motivated by passion is very important. Everyday I get to do what I love,” said the 26-year-old.
“Every day at the museum is different. With only two full-time staff members — the director, Jim Moran, and myself — we are constantly working on multiple projects. One of the great things about our museum is our volunteers. Many of them are Hamilton retirees who have first-hand knowledge of the original type cutting methods and company legacy.”
